The 3rd China International Import Expo will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 5th to 10th.Zigong Lantern Festival, as the first national intangible cultural heritage project stationed in the Expo, has created three major light-related projects of "Tribute Lantern", "CIIE Cultural and Creative" and "Luminous Jinbao",and will show the strength and charm of Zigong lanterns on the stage of the CIIE.
Among the"Tribute Lantern"project,4 large-scale Chinese royal-style tribute lanterns, "Auspicious Tribute Lantern", "Complete Tribute Lantern", "Eight Treasure Tribute Lantern" and "Fulu Tribute Lantern" were unveiled.Each set of lamps is 2.3 meters high and weighs more than 800 kilograms. It is the largest palace lantern of its kind in China, and it is indeed a rare treasure of lanterns today.
These four lantern groups are carefully and creatively made by designers and craftsmen from Zigong, Guangdong, Shandong and Taiwan, China.They integrate the traditional color lamps, enamel colors, manual embroidery, glass inner painting, copper tire casting, cloisonne wire cutting enamel, manual embroidery, jade carving and other processes in the intangible cultural heritage skills of the north and south of China. It took more than 5000 work hours and nearly 3 months.
