On August 24, the Youth Cultural and Creative Exchange Summit on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in Zigong, Sichuan was grandly opened in the Academic Lecture Hall of Sichuan University of Technology.More than 200 experts, scholars, designers, and young student representatives from Zigong and Taiwan attended the summit.The event was sponsored by Jiuzhou Cultural Communication Centre, Zigong Youth Federation, and Taiwan Local Culture Youth Association;Organized by Zigong Haitian Culture Co., Ltd.，Co-organized by Zigong Overseas Friendship Association, Zigong Lantern Chamber of Commerce, Zigong Tourism Association, and College Students Art Design Association of Sichuan University of Technology.

Li Hongqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Zigong Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Government, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the summit that,youth is a new force to promote the development of cultural and creative industries.Zigong is well-known at home and abroad as a "thousand-year salt capital, home of dinosaurs, and city of lanterns". The creative industries related to dinosaur culture and lantern culture started early and have a good foundation.The cultural and creative industries in Taiwan have advanced design concepts and rich experience. We hoped that through the holding of the summit, the two sides will conduct more discussions on cultural and creative development strategies and exchanges of experience to promote the diversified development of cultural and creative industries in the two places, and thereby promote the exchanges and cooperation.

Shang Junqi, Secretary-General of Jiuzhou Cultural Communication Center, said that culture is historical and inherited.Cultural creativity should be carried out in a way that people likes, and the two sides of the strait have the same roots, and hope to develop more exchanges and cooperation in the cultural and creative industry.

Zhao Yu, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, said that I hope that this summit will let Zigong see Taiwan’s creativity and discover the market during the cooperation; let Taiwan see Zigong‘s elements and incorporate new ideas in the inheritance; and I hope that the two places will establish long-term cooperation in exchanges and exchanges and seek common development in cultural and creative undertaking.I also hopes that Zigong and Taiwan will uphold the concept of "Mainland and Taiwan is the household of close relatives.", work together, and use cultural innovation as the link to promote cooperation and development and build a better tomorrow.

At the opening ceremony, 5 guests from Taiwan and 4 guests from Zigong gave keynote speeches respectively on the topics of Zigong's characteristic culture, tourism and cultural and creative park construction, and Taiwan's cultural and creative experience.The meeting also held a press conference of the "Lantern Creative Competition", soliciting creative lighting projects from both sides of the strait, encouraging young people on both sides of the strait to develop their creativity, and let more and more beautiful lighting art works enter the lives of people on both sides of the strait.

After the opening ceremony, a face-to-face interactive exchange activities between experts, scholars and cultural and creative designers from Zigong and Taiwan were also carried out.The event carried out cultural and creative dialogue and exchanges around cultural elements such as Zigong lanterns, salt industry, and dinosaurs.The guests attending the meeting also visited the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, Shenhai Well, Zigong Museum of salt history, Fushun Temple and other places.
