On the evening of January 21, the 22th Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival was grandly opened in Zigong Lantern Park.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Shi Minjia, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Government.Liu Yongxiang, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zigong Municipal Committee, Mayor of Zigong Municipal People's Government, said in his speech that in recent years, the Zigong Lantern Festival has covered the land of China and more than 40 countries and regions. It has demonstrated the unique charm of the lantern culture and has become an important factor for us to expand opening up and promote economic and trade cooperation.At the same time, the holding of the lantern festival enriched the cultural life of the people, promoted employment and increased income, and achieved a double harvest of economic and social benefits.This year, Zigong City will also carry out the Lantern Festival "Hundred Cities Tour" activities to accelerate the "going out" of the characteristic culture of Zigong lanterns, so that the brilliance of Zigong lanterns will bloom in more countries and regions.He hopes that all the guests and friends from all walks of life will walk around and take a look at Zigong while enjoying the feast of lanterns, and fully appreciate the unique charm of the Zigong Lantern Festival and Zigong, and promote the economic, trade, tourism, Cultural exchanges and cooperation in various aspects.

This Lantern Festival was hosted by the People’s Government of Zigong City and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture, with the theme of "Beautiful Chinese Dream, Brilliant Zigong Lanterns".This lantern festival focused on making breakthroughs in subject selection, craftsmanship, form of expression, entertainment interaction, etc., and paid more attention to the combination of modern technology and traditional skills.Continuously inject new elements into the design and production of the lantern group, adopt new crafts, new light sources, and fully demonstrate the artistic characteristics of Zigong Lantern Festival's "shape, sound, light and movement".This lantern festival also pays more attention to the integration of local culture and international culture. While presenting the unique regional culture of salt，dinosaur and lanterns, it also displays exotic customs, and strives to bring visitors a different experience of viewing the lanterns.The lanterns in the lantern park highlight the four core sectors of "the most dazzling Chinese style, romantic French love, great national soul, and auspicious Chinese New Year".A total of 128 sets of large and medium-sized lantern groups were exhibited this time, and atmosphere lights composed of 110,000 modern light sources.Zigong Lantern Park became a world of lanterns and a sea of joy.
