On April 25th, a reporter from Chuanguan learned from the China Lantern Museum that the museum has completed the upgrading of "one hall and one center", namely the "Zigong Lantern Production Skills Hall" and the "Visitor Center", and is expected to open to the public on May 1.
The China Lantern Museum was opened in 1994, but the development of the museum was restricted due to the backward display methods and lack of collections. In response to the above problems, under the guidance of the Zigong Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, the China Lantern Museum has adopted the principle of step-by-step implementation of the overall plan, overcoming difficulties such as tight time, heavy tasks, and low funds, and has been upgraded since last year.
First is to change the display mode. The reconstructed Zigong lantern making art hall comprehensively combs and introduces the eight categories of basic skills, nearly 100 sub items of skills, and nine kinds of Zigong special lanterns through the display of lantern making tools, finished lanterns, and broken down parts of lanterns in the form of text panels and display cabinets, adding 48 pieces of 8 high-quality lanterns, 16 categories of broken down parts of lanterns, and 28 pieces of lantern making tools. It introduce the numerous and exquisite technologies behind the bright Zigong lantern to the audience, and show the spirit of the times, innovation and craftsmanship of Zigong Lantern people.
Second is to establish an independent tourist center.The ear room on the side near the lake of the museum will be upgraded, with functional areas such as ticketing, information consultation, temporary rest, self-service deposit, self-service inquiry, volunteer service, and central air conditioning. After the new tourist center is put into use, it will comprehensively improve the service function of the museum and provide more considerate services for tourists.
The third is to fully renovate the museum. The facade of the museum was fully repaired and painted, and the image was greatly improved. At the same time, the "Zigong Liberation Monument Tower" was renovated, a new cultural relics warehouse was opened, and the toilets in the tourist and office areas were renovated.
In the process of renovation and upgrading, the China Lantern Museum has received strong support from Sichuan Museum and and nine companies including Zigong Legend Lantern Festival Co., Ltd.
The museum will continue to use the design and technical strength of Zigong lantern companies to play the role of platforms and windows, take the road of combining museums and enterprises, push the museum display to a new level, and effectively play the functions of the museum, adding luster to Zigong Cultural Tourism.
